Tanglewood at Cannock

Tanglewood delivers it’s programmes in association with Staffordshire County Council at Marquis Drive Visitor Centre on Cannock Chase an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Cannock Chase is an idyllic place to visit with its quiet miles of rolling hills, purple heather and unspoilt miles of forest tracks.

Education at Cannock

We have access to a dedicated outdoor learning area adjacent to the classrooms. This area is for the exclusive use of visitors on an education programme and has a rustic log seating area with a fire pit. Many of our activities will take place in this area as well as utilising the many trails and habitats in the woods.

Facilities at Cannock
Car and coach parking

Please enter the main car park entrance from Marquis Drive. Follow the one-way system round to the Visitor Centre. You can park and unload here.

When your group arrives at the forest, a member of Tanglewood staff will greet your group in the car park and walk you round to the classroom. If the member of staff has not arrived please telephone your Tanglewood instructor.

Classroom – The John O'Leary Eduction Centre

All school groups will automatically have a classroom booked as part of their visit. We aim to be outdoor as much as possible but in poor weather we can deliver games and activities inside the classroom as well as eat lunch. The classroom has facilities to allow us to provide teas and coffees for our adult visitors.

Woodland Play Area

At the end of your visit with us why not let your children burn off any remaining energy by visiting the wonderful woodland play area adjacent to the car park.
